What flies do we recommend for Mýrarkvísl?
Mýrarkvísl is a reletively small, varied trout and salmon river with shallow plains, a powerful canyon section, and productive lower beats. The trout season starts on April 1st, with salmon entering from June and peaking in July–August. Because the river is fed by a shallow lake, the dry fly fishing begins earlier here than on many other Icelandic rivers.
Below is a simple list of the fly patterns and sizes that work consistently on Mýrarkvísl.
